2007-08 Season Outlook<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

Sarah Broker is one of five <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Illinois natives on the 2007-08 Nebraska roster. While Broker’s strength lies in the 100-yard butterfly, where she produced the team’s third-fastest time last year, she will also be looked to for success in the middle-distance freestyle races after competing in every freestyle event from the 50 to 500 as a freshman. Broker also had three runner-up finishes last year and may be on the verge of her first-career win in 2007-08.

2006-07 (Freshman)

Broker qualified for the bonus finals of the 100-yard butterfly in her first conference meet and finished 24th. She had three runner-up finishes during the regular season, two that came in the 500-yard freestyle on the road against South DakotaState and Northern Iowa. Broker’s 100-yard butterfly continued to improve throughout the season, setting a career-best time of 58.43 at the Big 12 Championships, which was the Huskers’ third-fastest time in 2006-07. Her previous best of 58.66 gained her entry to the C finals at the Minnesota Invite in November, where she went on to a 22nd-place finish out of 69 total competitors. Broker finished a season-high third in the 100 fly at Northern Iowa.
