2007-08 Season Outlook<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

A three-time Washington Class 4A state champion, diver Mariesa Cloud is aiming to continue her winning ways with the Huskers. She will be part of a young <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska diving team as a freshman, so her development will be key to the Huskers' suceess in 2007-08.

 

Previous

Cloud scored the second-highest one-meter score in Washington Class 4A history with a total of 451.85 at the 2006 state meet. The total earned her one of three golds during her high school career and helped her earn All-America honors while lettering three seasons for the Bears. Cloud also competed for the Pacific Northwest diving club team, where she was a national contender and reached fourth place on the one meter at the 2007 AAU national meet in Orlando, Fla. The performance came after a runner-up finish on the one meter and third place on the three meter at the 2006 Spring Regionals. She also placed 11th on the one meter at the 2006 West Nationals in Pasadena, Calif.

 

Personal

Mariesa was born on Aug. 13, 1989 in Aberdeen, Wash. She is the daughter of Martin and Juliana Cloud and has one brother, Justin. Mariesa is majoring in nutritional science and dietetics at Nebraska.
