2006-07 Season Outlook<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
Danielle Stansbury is coming off an eighth-place finish on the platform dive at the 2006 Big 12 Championships and is poised to end her career on a high note. With the loss of Amie Buoy and Becky Johnson, Stansbury could be the Huskers' top diver this season.
2005-06 (Junior)
Stansbury had her best year at <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska as a junior, highlighted by her qualifying for the finals of the platform dive at the Big 12 Championships when she placed eighth. Stansbury also placed eighth on the platform at the Minnesota Invitational and set a career-best score of 253.50 on the one-meter dive against some stiff competition, while also placing third in the event against Iowa State and Missouri State/South Dakota State. She was runner-up on the three-meter against the Cyclones in addition to a third-place finish against Northern Iowa.
2004-05 (Sophomore)
Stansbury was a standout diver as a sophomore, breaking career-best marks in all three events, and falling just short of qualifying for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships during the regular season when she scored a 248.95 on the one-meter against SouthwestMissouriState. Stansbury picked up the first victory of her Husker career in Omaha when she won the three-meter against Nebraska-Omaha and Northern Colorado, and also placed 11th on the same board at the Big 12 Championships with a career-best score of 385.75.
2003-04 (Freshman)
Stansbury put points on the board for the Huskers against SouthwestMissouriState with a third-place finish on the one-meter springboard with a score of 204.90. She added a pair of fourth-place finishes against Nebraska-Omaha with a score of 192.30 on the one-meter board and a score of 203.99 on the three meter. She added an eighth-place performance in NU's win over IowaState, while producing a season-best 331.33 on the three-meter board.
Previous
A three-time all-state performer at LincolnSoutheastHigh School, Stansbury finished fourth as a senior at the Nebraska state meet under Coach Dave Peters. She earned honorable-mention All-America honors as a senior. Stansbury was an academic all-state honoree in 2002.
Personal
Danielle is the daughter of Linda and Gary Stansbury and was born on Sept. 12, 1985, in Lincoln. Danielle has one brother, Matt. Danielle is an elementary education major.
