2006-07 Season Outlook<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

Casey Schnack (Sh-NOCK) is a key part of <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska's talented and strong distance group and also adds depth in the individual medley and middle distance races. She hopes to add to an already successful resume in her last season as a Husker.

2005-06 (Junior)

Schnack set career-best times in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle and also gained her third straight top-10 finish in the 1,650 free at the Big 12 Championships, where she came in ninth. Her career-best 500-free clocking of 4:53.43 (NCAA provisional-qualifying time) came in the preliminary race at the conference meet, before she went on to a 12th-place finish in the finals. Schnack claimed her 1,000 free best in the same pool against Missouri during the regular season with a time of 10:09.41, eight seconds faster than her previous best and good for third place. Aside from the distance events, Schnack also competed in backstroke and individual medley races. She never won a race but placed runner-up five times.

2004-05 (Sophomore)

Schnack set her first NCAA provisional cut as a Husker in the 1,650-yard freestyle.  Schnack’s career-best time of 16:52.73 in the event ranked her in the national top 50 during the season and sixth in the Big 12 at the end of the regular season.  The time was third on a talented distance squad that took four of the top 10 spots in the Big 12 in the 1,650-yard freestyle.  Schnack was a solid contributor outside of distance freestyle events, as she also swam the backstroke and IM races on several occasions.  On the year, Schnack won one race each in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke while regularly placing in the top five in her other events.  In all, Schnack set six career bests.

2003-04 (Freshman)

Schnack had a strong opening to the 2003-04 season, as she placed first in the 400-yard IM against Southern Illinois in the opening meet of the season, finishing the race in 4:35.50.  She put points on the board to contribute to the Huskers' fourth-place finish at the Minnesota Invitational by placing second in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:00.93).  Schnack also had a pair of top-20 finishes at the Big 12 Championships, placing 13th in the 400-yard IM in a season-best time of 4:28.64 and 12th in the 500-yard freestyle in a season-best 4:59.59.
