2005-06 Season Outlook

After serving as a co-captain during her junior year, Mackenzie Clark will once again be relied upon for leadership and talent as a senior.  She is among the best distance freestylers in the Big 12, and is a key component of <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska's strong distance squad.

2004-05 (Junior)

Clark showed her leadership last year as a top freestyler who set career-best marks in every event she competed.  Clark ended the regular season ranked near the top of the Big 12 Conference in the 1,000-yard freestyle (8th) and 1,650-yard freestyle (7th), and went on to place 10th at the Big 12 Championships in the 500 and seventh in the 1,650 in an NCAA provisional-cut time of 16:52.03.  Clark won the 1,650 at IowaState, and also earned a victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle at the San Diego Invite, in addition to four second-place finishes on the year that included a career-best time of 10:09.31 versus Kansas.  Clark also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle three times, and added one second-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle at Southern Illinois.

2003-04 (Sophomore)

Clark was one of the Huskers' best distance swimmers, finishing fifth at the Big 12 Championships in the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:54.96) and eighth in the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.23), both season-best marks.  Clark also made major improvements in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Her season-best time of 10:18.3 against Southwest Missouri State was eight seconds faster than her top time as a freshman in the event.  Clark won the 1,650-yard freestyle event in dual action at Kansas.  Clark added a season-best in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.08 in a dual win over Nebraska-Omaha.

2002-03 (Freshman)

Clark was one of NU's top distance swimmers, finishing 10th at the Big 12 Championships in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:07.78).  She also placed 13th in the 500-yard freestyle at the Big 12 meet (5:01.10).  Clark had the team's best 1,000-yard freestyle time against Kansas and Louisville (10:26.19).  She won the 1,000-yard freestyle at Northern Arizona and Nebraska-Omaha.
