2005-06 Season Outlook<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

Becky Johnson will round out her career as one of the top divers for the Huskers.  After narrowly missing a trip to the NCAA Zone Diving Championships last season, Johnson would like to end her career with a return trip after qualifying in 2003.  She has consistently placed in the top three on the one- and three-meter boards and was the second-leading scorer on the diving squad last season.

 

2004-05 (Junior)

Johnson nearly qualified for her second NCAA Zone meet last season with scores of 268.57 and 257.77 on the three-meter, and 253.64 and 250.25 on the one-meter.  She was a top diver for the Huskers, and picked up two one-meter and one three-meter victory on the season.  Johnson also placed in the top three a total of 11 times.  The <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Anoka, Minn., native enjoyed her best Big 12 meet by placing in the top eight in all three events, including a third-place finish on the one meter, which helped the Huskers to a third-place team finish.        

 

2003-04 (Sophomore)

Johnson had a solid season for NU and contributed throughout her sophomore campaign.  She placed fifth on the platform at the Minnesota Invitational with a season-best score of 318.80, helping the team to its fourth-place finish.  She placed second on the one-meter springboard with a season-best score of 234.44 against SouthwestMissouriState, helping NU capture its second win of the season.

 

2002-03 (Freshman)

A walk-on who performed like a veteran, Johnson became a force for NU on the boards as the season progressed.  She qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Meet on both springboards.  Johnson placed seventh on the platform and ninth on the three meter at the Big 12 Championships.  She did not pick up any individual wins, but placed third on the one meter at Northern Arizona and Nebraska-Omaha.  Johnson took second on the three meter at IowaState.

 

Previous

Johnson was an all-state selection at AnokaHigh School in Anoka, Minn.  She finished fourth on the one meter at the Minnesota State Championships in 2000 and third in 2001.  Johnson was elected team captain in 2001 and chosen as team MVP.  She dove for Mike Hilber and Kz Li with Minnesota Diving.  Her top prep scores were 370.65 in the three-meter and 267.50 in the one meter.

 

Personal

Becky is the daughter of Sara and Jim Johnson and was born on April 22, 1984, in Bogota, Colombia.  Becky has one brother, Dan.  She is majoring in pre-elementary education.
