  Sophomore (1992-93)
  Cheryl Kartye became the three-meter Big Eight conference champion with a score of 495.10. On the one-meter board, Kartye notched a bronze medal with a score of 390.95. 
  
  Freshman (1991-92)
  As a freshman, Kartye earned sixth-place on both the one- and three-meter springboards at the conference championships. She earned seventh-place on the three-meter board and 14th-place on the one-meter board at the NCAA Zone Qualifying meet. 
  
  Before Nebraska
  Kartye placed third and second in her junior and senior years at the Missouri state high school championships on the three-meter board. She made it to the finals at senior zones in 1992.
