Senior (1992-93)
At her final Big Eight Championships, Michelle Butcher worked her way to a third-place 400 IM (4:25.28), a fifth-place 1,650 free (17:03.86) and a seventh-place 500 free (4:56.51).
Junior (1991-92)
Butcher was the conference champion in the 500 and 1,650 freestyles as well as the 400 IM, which were all of the events she competed in at the meet. She set a Big Eight meet record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:50.58. She qualified for the NCAA Championships and finished sixth in the 1,650 freestyle, earning All-America status.
Sophomore (1990-91)
At the conference championships, Butcher earned first place in the 500 and 1,650 freestyles as well as the 400 IM. She anchored the first-place 800-yard free relay team. She was named the Big Eight Most Valuable Performer at the conclusion of the conference meet for the second consecutive year. She competed at the national swimming championships and placed fifth in the 1,500 free.
Freshman (1989-90)
Butcher swept the competition in the 500 and 1,650 free as well as the 400 IM in just her first Big Eight Championships. She earned her first Most Valuable Performer award at the conference championships. She qualified for the NCAA Championships as a relay team member.
