Sophomore (2000-01)
At the 2001 Big 12 Championships, Hehn put up impressive times in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. In the 100 breast, she swam to a time of 1:03.13, while she clocked a 2:19.19 in the 200 breast for a fourth-place finish. At her first NCAA Championships, Hehn swam a time of 1:03.68 in the 100 breaststroke for a 24th-place finish. In the 200 breast, Hehn took 26th with a clocking of 2:17.43. Hehn's times in the events at the Big 12 Championships were the second-fastest of the Huskers this season.
Freshman (1999-2000)
Hehn improved throughout the season, highlighted by fourth-place finishes in the 100 (1:04.17) and 200 breaststrokes (2:19.19) at the Big 12 Championships. She helped the Huskers to a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay. During the season, she recorded two second-place finishes against Iowa State and Kansas in the 200 breaststroke. She helped Nebraska to a first-place finish against Iowa State in the 200-meter medley relay/ She recorded two second-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke against Iowa State and Missouri. Hehn recorded NU's second-fastest times of the season in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
Before Nebraska
Hehn was the North Dakota state champ in the 100-yard breast in 1998 and 1999, establishing the state mark of 1:04.29 in her last season. She also placed third in the 200-yard IM in her senior year. She placed 20th at the Senior Nationals in the 100-meter breast. She competed for the Fargo Moorhead YMCA Gators and was a two-time YMCA national finalist in the 100-meter breast.
