  Sophomore (1997-98)
  Katie Hoffman earned a letter in her second year with the Nebraska swim and dive team. The team won the Big 12 Championships with a total of 868 points. 
  
  Freshman (1996-97)
  A breaststroke specialist, Hoffman shaved her times greatly between January and February. Her previous season-best efforts of 1:16.37 in the 100 breast and 2:40.24 in the 200 breast (recorded versus Texas A&M and USC on Jan. 11) were shattered with marks of 1:10.37 and 2:31.60, set at the final dual meet against Kansas on Feb. 8. Her best 100 breast showing was fifth-place finishes against both Kansas (1:10.37) and Missouri (1:12.87). Her top performance in the 200 breast was a third-place mark against Missouri (2:33.91). She posted a handful of top-six dual-meet finishes. 
  
  Before Nebraska
  At state as a senior, she finished sixth in the 100 breast and seventh in the 200 IM. Hoffman was fifth in the 100 breast and seventh in the 200 IM as a junior and sixth in the 100 breast as a sophomore. She was a four-time letterwinner in both swimming and golf. She earned academic all-state honors in swimming and golf during her junior and senior seasons.

  Katie was born on Oct. 25, 1977, to Darrel and Sandi Hoffman.
