    Senior (1999-2000)
    At the Big 12 Championships, Ingrid Gotchel took 13th-place in the 500 free (5:00.73) and 16th in the 100 back (59.56). Gotchel added her best finish in the 200 back with a ninth-place, 2:02.04 swim in the 200 back. 

    Junior (1998-99)
    Gotchel was a key performer at the Big 12 Championships, securing a 1-2-3 NU finish in the 200 back, touching third in a time of 2:00.36. She also qualified for finals in the 100 back, finishing fifth (56.52), and won the consolation heat of the 500 free (4:56.63) at the Big 12 meet. Gotchel also finished in fourth in the 200 back at the Big 12 Invitational. She helped NU to a 7-3 dual mark, winning the 500 free versus Iowa State and finishing third in both backstroke events against Colorado State and Missouri. 

Sophomore (1997-98)
As a sophomore, she set three career bests and three NCAA provisional cuts at the Big 12 Championships. She finished in fourth in the 100 back (56.24), fifth in the 200 back (2:01.20) and sixth in the 500 free (4:55.58). She notched a seventh-place finish in the 200 back at the Texas Invite. Also, she finished in third in the 200 free against Iowa State and third in the 200 back against Kansas for a season-best dual finish.

Freshman (1996-97)
At the Big 12 Championships, she won her first medal with a sixth-place 200 back performance (2:03.44f, 2:03.42p). She also won the bonus consolation heat of the 100 back (57.23) and the 500 free (5:00.00). She swam a season-best time of 10:46.05 in the 1,000 free at UC Santa Barbara. She also won the 200 back against UC Santa Barbara. At the Texas Invitational, she posted an eighth-place finish in the 200 back.

Before Nebraska
Gotchel finished first as a member of the 200 medley relay, third in the 200 free relay, third in the 100 back and ninth in the 200 IM at the 1993 PIAA State Championships, in her only year of high school competition. She was a national age group top 16 champion in the 50-meter back and the 100-meter back as a member of the Suburban Swim Club.

Ingrid was born on September 8, 1977, to Eldon and Janelle Hunsicker.
