  Sophomore (2000-01)
  Earning another two All-America honors at the 2001 NCAA Championships, Fischer took fifth-place in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:11.27. In the 100-yard breast, she claimed an eighth-place podium finish in a time of 1:02.04. Fischer had another excellent showing at the Big 12 Championships, winning the 200 breast (2:13.71) and earning a runner-up finish in the 100 breast (1:02.06). 
  
  Freshman (1999-2000)
  At the NCAA Championships, Fischer finished 10th in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:28.56), earning her first All-America award. She added a 19th-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:10.57). She put together an outstanding Big 12 Championships, sweeping the breaststroke events by posting times of 1:03.19 and 2:13.71 in the 100- and 200-yard events, respectively. In the 200, she recorded the fifth-fastest time in Nebraska history. She also swam on Nebraska's runner-up 400 medley relay team. Against Kansas, she claimed victory in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.85). She posted Nebraska's fastest times of the season in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events. 
  
  Before Nebraska
  Along with competing in the 200 Olympics in Sydney, Australia, Fischer was a member of the Austrian Olympic team at the 1996 Olympics held in Atlanta, placing 23rd in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:33.87, long course). She qualified for the semifinals at the 1999 European Championships in the 200-meter breast, finishing 13th overall in a time of 2:34.48.
