    Senior (1998-99)
    Adding her eighth All-America accolade, Destiny Lauren achieved a sixth-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 1:59.41. At the Big 12 Championships, she achieved a seventh-place finish in the 100 fly (56.87) and sixth in the 500 free (4:56.92). 

    Junior (1997-98)
    Coming off a redshirt season, she earned her sixth career conference gold medal in the 200 fly (2:00.69). She finished in 11th in the 200 fly (1:59.93, season best) at the national championships to secure honorable mention All-America honors. At the Big 12 Championships, she placed eighth in the 500 free (5:01.03) and 13th in the 400 IM (4:27.87).

    She won the 200-meter fly at the World Championship Prep Meet with a time of 2:18.16. She notched two top-five finishes at the SMU Classic, including a second-place showing in the 200 fly (2:02.17) and a fifth-place 500 free finish (5:02.38). She won the 1,000 free against Iowa State in a time of 10:18.57. 

    Sophomore (1996-97)
    In just her second year, Lauren garnered four conference gold medals (three individual, one relay) and three honorable mention All-America honors. At the NCAA Championships, she finished in ninth in the 200 fly (2:00.40), 15th in the 800 free relay (7:28.66) and 16th in the 100 fly (56.50). She also amassed two victories in the 400 IM (4:20.51) and the 100 fly (55.51) at the Big Eight Championships. She also earned a gold medal at the conference meet with a 2:01.01, title-winning swim in the 200 fly. Lauren swam the third leg on the conference champion and then-school and conference record-breaking 800 free relay (10:18.57)

    Freshman (1995-96)
    Lauren qualified for the NCAA Championships in both butterfly events and recorded a fourth-place finish in the 200 fly in a then-conference record and school record time of 1:59.02. She additionally finished in 38th in the 100 fly with a time of 57.03. At the NCAA's, she was also a member of the 400 medley relay team that set a conference record and shattered the old school record with a time of 3:40.85. She was also a conference champion in the 200 fly, where she set a time of 2:00.67. 

    Her season highlights included a second-place finish in the 200 fly (2:00.23) at the Texas Invitational in December, which resulted in an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. 

    Before Nebraska 
    Swedish National Champion in the butterfly event. Her highest short-course FINA world ranking was 14th in the 200-meter fly in 1995. 

    Personal
    Destiny was born to Tomaf and Kerstin Lauren on January 20, 1976. She changed her name from Mikeala to Destiny in 1996.
