Catie Pentlarge did not compete during the 2022-23 season.
2021-22 (Sophomore)
Pentlarge took a medical redshirt during her sophomore season.
2020-21 (Freshman)
Pentlarge competed in Nebraska’s first two dual meets as a freshman in 2021. She established a top collegiate time in the 100 breaststroke of 1:08.81 in the season-opening dual at Iowa (Jan. 16). She took sixth in the 100 breast and the 200 breast (2:31.80). She also finished sixth in the 200 IM (2:12.08) at Iowa. She competed in the 100 breast at Nebraska’s lone home dual against Illinois (Jan. 23). Catie joined her older sister, Jessica, on the Nebraska swimming and diving roster in 2020-21.
Before Nebraska
Pentlarge came to Nebraska after competing for North Coast Aquatics and Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego. In February 2020 at the Speedo Championships Series in Carlsbad, Calif., Pentlarge raced to a 2:03.82 in the 200-yard IM. She swam to a time of 1:04.41 in the 100 breaststroke at the California Interscholastic Federation-San Diego Section-Division II meet in April of 2019. A four-time CIF San Diego Section 2 finalist, Pentlarge finished third in both 100 breast and 200 IM in 2018.
Personal
The daughter of Jack and Carol Pentlarge, Catie was born May 29, 2002, in San Diego, Calif. Catie has one sister, Jessica, who was a senior on the 2020-21 Nebraska swimming and diving team. A nutrition and health sciences major, Catie was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and an Academic All-Big Ten honoree in 2022. She is a five-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection and a three-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
