Honors and Awards

Senior (1990-91)
Amy Aarsen completed her time as a Husker by earning first-team All-America honors at the 1991 NCAA Championships on the three-meter board. Aarsen accumulated a score of 459.75 to help the team to a top-30 finish. 

Earlier, Aarsen notched a Big Eight title on the three-meter board with a total of 562.85 and was runner-up on the one-meter with a final score of 439.25. The team notched its second consecutive conference title with efforts from Aarsen, Michelle Butcher, Jennell Garcia, Mindy Matheny, Julie Riegal and Melanie Wirtner. 

Junior (1989-90)
Captured titles on the one- and three-meter boards at the Big Eight Championships. She amassed a score of 420.90 on the one meter, a then Big Eight diving record. She used a 493.90 on the three-meter board to propel a win. The Huskers captured the Big Eight title in 1990 with a total of 654.5 points. She earned honorable mention All-America honors on the 10-meter platform at the 1990 NCAA Championships as well as first-team Academic All-Big Eight. 

Sophomore (1988-89)
Aarsen finished second on both springboards at the Big Eights for 26 team points. For her second straight year, she swept first-place finishes in a dual against Kansas. She earned a trip to the NCAA Championships on the three-meter and 10-meter boards.

Freshman (1987-88)
The freshman from Wichita, Kan., marked an impressive second year with a duo of second-place finishes at the Big Eight Championships. She went on to earn Honorable mention All-America on the 10-meter platform at the NCAA's. 

Before Nebraska 
Competed in Minn. before moving to Wichita prior to her senior year. She helped her teams in high school win the state all four years. Aarsen is also a four-time All-American through her six U.S. Diving titles in Minnesota. 

Personal
A psychology major, Amy was born to Johannes and Alana Aarsen on May 16, 1969.
