Junior (2025-26)
Amelia Riggott displayed a strong third season with the Huskers in her breaststroke efforts. She used six top-five finishes to help propel her to two career marks for the season. 

Hailing from High Wycombe, England. Riggott produced a first-place finish in the 100 breast in a double dual at the beginning of the season, with a time of 1:04.46. Dropping her time nearly every meet forward, Riggott earned a second-place position against Kansas (1:02.76) and a third-place finish against Rutgers (1:04.51). 

At the 2026 Big Ten Championships, Riggott accomplished her best time yet in the event. On the second day of action in Minneapolis, Minn., she powered her C final prelim time of 1:01.79 to a 19th-place finishing time of 1:01.20. This time is the seventh-fastest time in NU history, with Maia Hall holding the record time of 59.94.

With consistent cuts all season, Riggott swam her best 200 breast time at the conference championships through a 2:18.12, 37th-place swim in the prelims. Throughout the season, Riggott earned two fourth-place finishes in the event to build momentum for her career mark. In a double dual against South Dakota State and Omaha, she achieved a time of 2:26.28 and in the final meet of the season, Riggott swam a 2:20.44. 

Riggott contributed to relay efforts throughout the season, including a notable 400 medley relay time of 3:40.42 at the Hawkeye Invite. The team of Virginia Consiglio, Beatrix Tanko and Giulia Marchi powered to a fourth-place finish.

Sophomore (2024-25)
Riggott finished her sophomore season with three career bests and consistent time improvement. Mid-season at the Hawkeye invitational, Riggott clocked a career-best 24.19 in the 50 free. She added a 17th-place performance in the 100 breast (1:01.77) after clocking 1:03.68 in prelims earlier that day. She also swam in the 200 breast (2:20.31). 

The Husker finished her second season at the Big Ten Championship with a career-best 2:20.00 in the 200 breast. She also swam in the 50 free prelims (24.25), 100 breast prelims (28th, 1:02.04) and 200 breast prelims (45th, 2:22.28).

Following the collegiate season, Riggott raced to a lifetime best of 31.55 to finish fifth in the 50-meter breaststroke at the 2025 British National Swimming Championships at the London Aquatics Center (April 15).

Freshman (2023-24)
Riggott improved her times consistently throughout the season and finished with three career bests at the Big Ten Championships. In the 100 breaststroke, Riggot logged a prelim time of 1:02.53 to qualify for the final, where she posted a career-best 1:02.45 for a 21st-place finish. Her other career bests came in the 50 freestyle prelims (24.20) and the 200 breaststroke prelims (2:21.51).

On Nov. 18, against Omaha, Riggott picked up a runner-up finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.79) and a fourth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.35). At the mid-season Hawkeye Invite, she placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.07 and added a 20th-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:23.70). Riggott grabbed a pair of seventh-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 breaststroke against Rutgers (Feb. 2-3).

Before Nebraska
Riggott came to Nebraska from High Wycombe, United Kingdom, where she attended Mount Kelly High School. She joined fellow Mount Kelly swimmer Emily Haimes on the 2023-24 Husker roster. Among Riggott’s top accolades, she captured the 2022 British 50 breaststroke title and was the National Arena League Premier Division Championship winner in 2021 and 2022. She was also a member of the 2022 ESSA National Final winning medley relay team. In 2020, Riggott swam an Olympic Trials-qualifying time in the 50 breaststroke. 

Personal
The daughter of Guy Riggott and Zoe Gilbert, Amelia was born on Oct. 13, 2004. She has two sisters, Matilda and Florence. A sports media and communications major, Amelia earned CSC Academic All-District honors. She was also a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and an Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2025. She has earned five spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She was also a member of the 2024 and 2025 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for her commitment to service in the Lincoln community.

“I chose Nebraska because I loved everything about my official visit,” Riggott said. “I felt like it was a good fit for me both academically and for my swimming career. The swim team was so welcoming and I got along well with the girls. I believe I can work well with Coach Pablo (Morales) and Pat (Rowan) and they can help me get my swimming to the next level.”
