High School
Buzzell comes to Nebraska from St. Francis High School in St. Francis, Minn., where she was coached by Joan Johnson. Buzzell’s team was Section 6AA Champions and state quarterfinalists in 2021. Individually, Buzzell was named the 2021 Mississippi 8 Conference Player of the Year. She also started and played in 68 games and recorded 12 career goals and seven career assists. Her team recorded 35 shutouts in her high school career. Buzzell was a three-time All-Conference and two-time All-State honorable-mention. In 2021, she was a Class 2AA first-team all-state honoree and a Class 2AA Ms. Soccer finalist.

Other Information
During the club season, Buzzell played for Coach Edi Buro at Manitou FC. She was a five-year captain and helped the team to a U.S. Club National Championship in 2018. Buzzell is also successful in the classroom, as she earned the MSHSCA Academic Excellence Award in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Personal Information
Lauren is the daughter of Heather and CJ Buzzell and was born on Nov. 6, 2003. She has one brother, Cam. Lauren is majoring in criminal justice and has earned two spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
