2019 (Freshman)
Mila Gretzky started 12 of her 16 appearances and compiled 1,007 minutes in her first year at Nebraska. She played the full 90 minutes on four occasions. After playing only 10 minutes in the season opener at Kansas on Aug. 22, Gretzky played at least 42 minutes in each of her other 15 games. She took four shots during the season, two of which were on goal.
High School
Gretzky joined the Huskers from North Park Collegiate in Brantford, Ontario, where she played soccer under Coach Emilio Melfi. Gretzky was named varsity player of the year. She also competed on the cross country, track and field, basketball and volleyball teams for North Park Collegiate. Individually, Gretzky won the BCSSA titles in the 200, 400 and 800. She still holds the BCSSA record for the 400 meters.
Other Information
Gretzky played club soccer for Salt Fleet Stoney Creek under Coach Carm Lancia and for Provincial Team Ontario in 2016. Gretzky helped the team advance to the finals of the Ontario Cup in 2018. In 2017, the team won the Golden Horseshoe after winning the Ontario Cup in 2016.
Personal Information
Mila is the daughter of Brent and Nicole Gretzky, and was born on March 27, 2001 in Fort Wayne, Ind. She has one sister, Avery and one brother, Luke. Mila is a criminology and criminal justice major who earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2023.
