2019 (Freshman)
Emma Marcus started six of her 17 appearances in 2019 and amassed 698 minutes. She managed nine shots, three of which were on goal. Marcus played a season-high 76 minutes against Clemson on Aug. 30, her first of three consecutive games playing more than 70 minutes. The only game Marcus sat out for was against Illinois on Sept. 29. 

High School

Marcus joined the Huskers from Winter Springs in Florida, where she played under Coach Kurt Oettl. Marcus helped the team to Seminole County Districts in 2015 and 2017. During each of her first three years, she led the team in goals scored, amassing 47 goals and seven assists for her career. A team captain during her junior season, she captured first-team all-conference honors during her sophomore and junior seasons after claiming second-team accolades as a freshman. She was also named Team MVP as a sophomore and junior.

Other Information

Marcus played club soccer for Florida Kraze Krush under Coaches Mark Hansen and Hue Menzies. Marcus helped the team to ECNL Nationals in 2018 after making Southern Regionals in 2017. In 2016, Florida Kraze Krush finished fourth at nationals after winning the Southern Regionals title. The team made U.S. Club Regionals in 2015. In 2014, she helped the team to the Southern Regionals quarterfinals en route to winning junior player-of-the-year honors individually.

Personal Information

Emma is the daughter of Josh and Lisa Marcus, and was born on May 2, 2001. She has four brothers, Brandyn and Sam Marcus, and Jeff and Jordan Janssen. Emma is studying pre-veterinary medicine.
