2015 (Redshirt Freshman)
Lia Baldo (pronounced LEE-uh BALL-doe) returned from injury to play in 15 games during 2015, and earned 10 starts in the process. Baldo scored two goals in the first four games to collect Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week honors on Sept. 8. For the season, she recorded 20 shots (12 on goal). Baldo scored her first goal in the Aug. 28 game against Central Michigan at Hibner Stadium. She headed in the ball off an assist from Courtney Claassen in the 19th minute. Her second goal came in the 74th minute against No. 20 DePaul on Sept. 6.

2014 (Medical Hardship)
Baldo was given a medical hardship for the 2014 season. 

High School
Baldo prepped at Loyola Academy College Prep under Coach Craig Snower. She recorded 15 goals and 27 assists in her first two years at Loyola with her team earning Catholic Cup, GCAC and Pepsi Showdown titles in 2011 and 2012. Baldo claimed all-conference accolades as a freshman and earned National Honor Society status in the classroom.

Other Information
During the club season, Baldo played for Sockers FC Chicago under coaches Ahmed Gad and David Richardson. She was part of a Sockers FC squad that claimed the state cup title three times.

Personal Information
Lia is the daughter of Giuseppe Baldo and Francine Bazos and was born on April 15, 1996. She has two sisters, Athena and Gabriella, as well as two brothers, Alfonso and Demetrio. Baldo earned her bachelor's degree as an advertising and public relations major at Nebraska in December of 2018. She was a seven-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and earned a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award in 2016.
