2015 (Senior)
Katie Kraeutner (pronounced KROYT-ner) played in all 17 games as a senior and started 13. She scored two goals and added one assist on the season. Both of her goals were game winners. Kraeutner scored in the 10th minute of the season opener against Kansas on Aug. 21 to help NU to a 3-0 victory. 

On Sept. 6 at DePaul, Kraeutner broke a 1-1 tie in the 54th minute on an unassisted free kick. The Huskers added a third goal in the game to take down then-No. 20 DePaul.

In all, Kraeutner took 17 shots on the season, seven of which were on goal. After the season, she collected CoSIDA Academic All-District honors and earned a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten list for the third straight season.

2014 (Junior)
Kraeutner made 16 starts and played in 17 games as a key contributor for the Husker offense. She scored two goals and earned two assists while averaging 82 minutes per contest. 

On Sept. 5, Kraeutner scored off an assist from Hannah Dittmar in the sixth minute to give Nebraska an early lead against Oklahoma. Kraeutner's second goal came on Sept. 11 in the Big Ten opener against Northwestern. Trailing the Wildcats 1-0, Kraeutner scored off an assist from Jaycie Johnson in the 88th minute to help Nebraska earn a tie.

Kraeutner assisted Husker goals against Big Ten foes Maryland and Indiana.

At the end of the season, Kraeutner collected CoSIDA Academic All-District honors and was named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team. She added recognition as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for the second consecutive season in 2015.

2013 (Sophomore)
Kraeutner started all 24 matches at midfielder for the Huskers in 2013. She has started 44 consecutive matches in her first two seasons at Nebraska. She played at least 80 minutes in 12 matches in 2013, while averaging more than 75 minutes per game.

Kraeutner posted her first assist of the season and third of her career in the 86th minute on a Samantha Areman header as the Huskers rolled to a 4-1 victory over Cincinnati at the Nebraska Soccer Field on Aug. 25.

In Nebraska's 3-0 win against San Francisco at the KU Invitational, Kraeutner found a streaking Jaycie Johnson for a goal. In the final game in Lawrence, Kraeutner notched her first goal of the year on a laser from 18 yards out that found its way through a crowd and beat the San Diego keeper.

In a 2-1 home victory over No. 14 Denver on Sept. 22, Jordan Jackson found Kraeutner on a cross 20 yards away far post who knocked it in from five yards out for the equalizer and her second score of the season.

On the road against Northwestern, Caroline Gray found Kraeutner off a corner kick for her third tally of the year to beat the Wildcat keeper from 18 yards out.

Kraeutner's fourth score of the year occurred in a narrow 2-1 victory over Iowa at the Nebraska Soccer Field on Oct. 3. The sophomore settled a ground cross from the right side and swept the ball inside the far post for her fourth tally in six matches.

Against Purdue, Kraeutner came through in a big spot again off a run into the middle of the box on a pass from Jackson and Conroy, Kraeutner finished in the lower corner to push the NU lead to 2-0. The Huskers defeated the Boilermakers by a 4-0 margin.

In a 1-0 victory at Minnesota, Kraeutner found Jackson with a through ball that Jackson slotted into the right corner of the goal past Minnesota's Tarah Hobbs for the game-winner and lone goal of the match.

Kraeutner also helped out on NU's third and final goal of the Big Ten Tournament semifinal win over Indiana to advance to the title match. The sophomore served an excellent pass down the left side to Jaycie Johnson, who beat the keeper for the tap-in to put the match away.

2012 (Freshman)
Kraeutner started all 20 games for the Huskers as a true freshman in 2013.

The latest in a long line of players to come to Nebraska from Canada, Kraeutner was the first Canadian to join the Huskers since 2008, when NU had three players from Canada on its roster.

Kraeutner played and started in her first career game at Nebraska against Oklahoma on the road in Norman. She posted a pair of shots, including one on goal.

Kraeutner notched her first career point at Nebraska with an assist against No. 16 Virginia Tech at the Nebraska Soccer Field on Aug. 24. Kraeutner assisted on Hannah Dittmar's first goal of the season, tying the game 1-1. The Hokies went on to win the game in overtime, avenging a home loss to the Huskers the previous season in Blacksburg.

Kraeutner scored her first career goal at Nebraska two days later in a 2-0 win over New Mexico. Kraeutner scored on a header with the assist coming from fellow freshman Jaylyn Odermann. The goal proved to be the game-winner.

Kraeutner picked up another game-winning goal at Cincinnati on Sept. 2. With the Huskers ahead, 1-0, Kraeutner scored an unassisted goal at 84:29. Just eight seconds later the Bearcats scored their only goal of the game at 84:37.

Kraeutner aided in Mayme Conroy's hat trick at Wisconsin on Oct. 5, as Kraeutner assisted on Conroy's first goal of the game at 13:00 to put Nebraska in front, 1-0. Conroy finished the hat trick with a game-winning goal in overtime that capped a 3-2 Husker win.

In the spring of 2013, Kraeutner was invited to Team Canada's U20 National Excel camp in Portland, Ore. The 22-player camp was part of the training program for the 2014 U20 World Cup.

High School
Kraeutner joined the Huskers from Parkland Secondary School in North Saanich, British Columbia.

Kraeutner was a co-captain of the soccer team at Parkland, as the team finished second in its region and seventh at the Provincial Championships.

Other Information
Kraeutner played club soccer for the Victoria Highlanders under coaches David Dew and Rick Zaharia. The club went 6-0-0 in 2011 and was invited to play in the United Soccer League Super-20 Finals in Tampa Bay, Fla., where Kraeutner was named to the all-tournament team. Following the tournament, the Highlanders were ranked as the top program in the USL.

During the 2012 season, Kraeunter played for the Highlanders First Team in the W-League under Coach David Dew.

Personal Information
Katie is the daughter of Paul and Jenny Kraeutner. She was born on March 22, 1994, and has one sister, Sarah. Katie majorrf in nutrition, exercise and health science before earning her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in December of 2016. She was named to the academic All-Big Ten team three times. She was also a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar on three occasions. She achieved CoSIDA Academic All-District honors during each of her last two seasons. Kraeutner was a nine-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and won one of Nebraska's Outstanding Scholar Awards in 2016.
