2012 (Sophomore)
Amy Swearer (pronounced SWEER-er) saw action in net in three games in 2012, including her first career start.
 
Swearer came off the bench and notched a then-career high five saves in 57 minutes of action against Baylor on Aug. 31 after starting goalkeeper Emma Stevens was forced to leave the game after receiving a red card.
 
Swearer then started at Cincinnati two days later on Sept. 2 and earned her first career win in a 2-1 Husker victory. She stopped a career-high six shots from the Bearcats.
Swearer came off the bench on Sept. 8 and helped preserve a 4-0 win with 12-shutout minutes in goal.
 
2011 (Redshirt Freshman)
Following a redshirt season in 2010,Swearerserved as the Huskers' reserve goalkeeper in 2011. Swearer saw action in net during an 8-1 win over Northern Arizona on Sept. 4. She played the final 9:52 of the game against the Lumberjacks.
 
In the classroom, Swearer produced a perfect 4.0 GPA and was honored as an Academic All-Big Ten selection.

2010 (Freshman)
Swearer was one of two Husker freshmen to redshirt in 2010.
 
In the classroom, Swearer was selected to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor during the fall and spring semesters.

High School
Swearer made her most impressive prep accomplishments at Lincoln Lutheran High School under Coach Dave Gosselin. In 2009, Swearer was named to the Lincoln Journal Star's Super-State team, earning second-team honors while gaining outright Class B all-state recognition. As a freshman in 2007, she was an honorable-mention Class B all-state selection. Before coming to Lincoln, Swearer was the starting goalkeeper on the high school varsity team at Hilton Head Christian Academy (Hilton Head, S.C.) as a seventh and eighth grader.
 
Swearer's family moved from Lincoln to Vancouver, Wash., before her senior year of high school, where she enrolled at Kings Way Christian. Swearer's school did not have girls soccer, so she played her final prep season at nearby Skyview High School under Coach Darin DeGrande, helping lead the Storm to the Greater St. Helens league title and a district championship.
 
Academically, Swearer graduated with a 3.9 grade-point average. She was a member of the National Honor Society and student council.
         
Other Information
Swearer was ranked as the fourth-best player and top goalkeeper in the Heartland region by Top Drawer Soccer in 2009. She was involved with three Olympic Development programs, including the Inter-Regional in November 2008, starting for the Region II 92s with Husker teammate Ashley Hick.
 
Swearer joined the FC Portland club team when she moved to Washington in 2009.
   
Personal Information
Amy is the daughter of Bob and Marge Swearer and was born on May 7, 1992 in Mineola, N.Y. She has two brothers, Nate and B.J., and one sister, Emily. Amy is majoring in pre-criminology and criminal justice at Nebraska. A Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2012-13, she was an academic All-Big Ten selection in 2011. Swearer is a six-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
