Elertson fired one shot on the season, a shot on goal against the Buckeyes.

High School
Named the No. 75 player in the country by TopDrawerSoccer.com and tabbed as the No. 96 recruit in the nation on ESPN's High School 150 list, Amanda Elertson played for one of top prep programs in the country at Boyd High School in McKinney, Texas, under Coach Michelle Estes.

The Broncos ended the 2012 season ranked 18th in the ESPNHS Fab 50 rankings after posting a 21-2-2 record. Elertson helped the Broncos defeat three top-50 programs, including No. 24 Rowlett (Texas), No. 30 Kingwood (Texas) and No. 19 American Heritage-Boca-Delray (Florida), who won the Florida Class 2A state title.

Boyd was unable to defend its state title in 2012, as the Broncos were upset in a shootout in the regional quarterfinals by College Station A&M Consolidated.

A 2011 first-team UIL Texas 5A all-state pick as a junior, Elertson was named MVP of the Class 5A state title game after scoring the game's only goal in overtime to beat Colleyville Heritage. The goal won the state title for Boyd after the Broncos lost in the 2010 state title game. Elertson also earned UIL District 10-5A All-District MVP honors after scoring 29 goals and adding 26 assists in 2011.

Elertson chose Nebraska over Oklahoma State and Wisconsin.
