Former Nebraska standout Carly Peetz begins her first year with the Husker coaching staff as an undergraduate assistant coach in 2010.
A native of Lincoln, Peetz was a three-time All-Big 12 selection as a defender for the Huskers from 2006 to 2010. She completed a very successful collegiate career last fall, as she earned 2009 Second Team All-Big 12 honors during her senior season. It concluded a four-year run that saw Peetz start all 79 matches of her career, the eighth-most in school history.
Peetz' outstanding defensive success was consistent throughout her career, while she also became a force on the offensive end as a senior, producing a career-high 11 points in 2009 (four goals, three assists). Peetz' defensive talent often haulted opposition scoring threats, as she led NU to three shutouts and held nine other opponents to only one goal. For the second consecutive year, she was named to the NSCAA All-Central Region Third Team.
A standout in the classroom as well, Peetz was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team three times, while she has also earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for seven consecutive semesters.
On the national level, Peetz has participated in U.S. Under-20 and Under-21 National Team Camps.
