2009 (Junior)
Mills played in 14 games and earned eight starts at goalkeeper in 2009, recording a 5-3-1 mark. Her season was highlighted by a complete-game shutout in Nebraska's 2-0 win over eventual Big 12 Tournament champion Oklahoma State on Oct. 4 in Lincoln.

Mills had 35 saves as a junior, including a season-high seven stops in the Huskers' 7-4 victory at Kansas on Oct. 23. It was the last of seven complete-games for Mills, who logged 936 minutes of action while splittling time in the net with Tara Macdonald. Mills played all 90 minutes of Nebraska's 2-1 upset vs. No. 14 Texas A&M on Oct. 18, tallying two saves while allowing the only Aggie goal on a penalty kick.

In addition to her shutout against Oklahoma State, Mills had three other matches over 25 minutes in which she did not allow a goal.

2008 (Sophomore)
Mills started the Huskers' first three games of the season and appeared in five total contests during the 2008 campaign. She collected 10 saves, while helping the Huskers to 3-0 victories over UAB and North Dakota State.

2007 (Freshman)
Mills earned the starting nod at the beginning of the season and never relinquished the spot, starting all 19 contests in net for the Huskers during 2007. Playing more than 1,660 minutes, Mills racked up 79 saves and three shutouts while allowing 31 goals.

Mills' season saw several highs, including a shutout against Northwestern in her first career start on Sept. 2.  Mills continued her scoreless streak into the 158th minute of the season before Drake finally squeezed a goal past her. Mills recorded shutouts in two of her first four career games, as she also held San Diego State scoreless on Sept. 9.  She allowed just two goals in her first four games, while making 20 saves.

Mills followed with a career-high seven saves against Tennessee on Sept. 14, before earning Big 12 Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors on Sept. 25. Her shutout performance against Saint Louis on Sept. 21 and one-goal allowed against No. 12 Florida on Sept. 23 earned her the award. She notched 11 saves in the two games.

Mills earned her third shutout of the season against Oklahoma on Sept. 28, as she made two saves and earned the win in her first career Big 12 game. She tied her career high with seven saves against No. 3 Texas on Oct. 7, before combining with Brittney Pfeil for a shutout of Lamar on Oct. 12.

High School
A three-year letterwinner for Clear Lake High School, the same school as NU goalkeeping coach Wally Crittenden, Mills led the Falcons to a co-district championship with 17 wins and just two losses in the spring of 2007. Mills was named to the all-district team for her performance. Mills graduated No. 1 in her class of more than 800 with a perfect grade-point average of 4.50, despite graduating a full year ahead of schedule.

Other Information
Mills was the goalkeeper for the four-time state champion Challenge 89 soccer club, a team that was also a regional quarterfinalist in 2004 and 2005. In her final season, Mills helped the Challenge to a regional finals appearance, making the program one of the top eight teams in the country.  Mills was also a member of the Texas Olympic Development Program State Team from 2004 to 2006.

Personal Information
Jessica is the daughter of Brenda and David Mills and has one sister, Lauren, and one brother, Bruce. Jessica was born Oct. 17, 1989, in Houston and is majoring in biological systems engineering.

Worth Noting
Mills is one of three Huskers over the past two seasons to earn a weekly honor from the Big 12 Conference, joining Molly Thomas (Newcomer of the Week, Sept. 30, 2008) and Katie Goetzmann (Newcomer of the Week, Oct. 21, 2008).
