2008 Season
Andrea Zuniga missed the 2008 season while she played with the Chilean U-20 National Team in the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

2007 Season
Playing primarily as a forward, Zuniga appeared in five games for the Huskers in 2007. Nebraska went 3-2 in those contests, as Zuniga contributed in wins against Missouri State, Saint Louis and Lamar. Zuniga played against Tennessee at the USC Tournament and made her Big 12 debut against Colorado. Zuniga notched her two shots during the season in a 4-0 Nebraska win over Lamar on Oct. 12.

High School
Zuniga played for Burke High School under Coach Steve Moobe and led the Bulldogs in scoring all four seasons of her varsity career. Zuniga's outstanding offensive effort earned her a pair of first-team all-state honors, two All-Nebraska honors and a first-team Super-State selection. In the classroom, Zuniga was selected as a four-year member of the Burke High School Honor Roll.

Other Information
Zuniga, whose father was born in Santiago, Chile, traveled to Miami in December of 2007 where she tried out for and was selected to Chile's U-20 National Team. Working mostly as a forward, Zuniga played in a four-game tournament while in Florida before spending the summer of 2008 playing with the team in Europe in preparation for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Four cities in Chile will host the tournament from Nov. 19 to Dec. 7.

Zuniga was one of five players among Nebraska’s 2007 recruits out of the three-time state champion Toro Magic club team in Omaha, where she was coached by her father, Mario Zuniga.

Personal
Andrea is the daughter of Mario and Charlotte Zuniga and has two sisters, Cassie and Aimee, and a brother, Steven. Andrea was born Jan. 24, 1989, in Dovertown, N.J. She has not declared a major at Nebraska.
