  • Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll (Fall: 2006, Spring: 2007)

2007 Season

Savannah Allen appeared in 10 games for Nebraska in 2007. Her sophomore campaign was highlighted by a goal against Kansas on Oct. 26. She also helped the Huskers to wins over Northwestern, Saint Louis and Lamar.

 

2006 Season

Allen saw action in eight games in her first season at <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska, including a start against WrightState on Aug. 25. Allen scored NU's lone goal in that contest, which ended in a 1-1 tie in double overtime. After her start, Allen got great experience against some of the best teams in the nation. In a two-week span, Allen earned minutes against three top-15 teams including Texas A&M, Texas and Oklahoma State, while also seeing minutes against Oklahoma on Oct. 22 and Loyola-Chicago on Oct. 25.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

 

High School

Allen was a four-year letterwinner at Grand IslandHigh School, the same school that produced Husker senior Abby Penas.  Allen also claimed three letters as a guard in basketball and as a shortstop in softball while at Grand Island.  A talented academic performer as well, Allen graduated from Grand IslandHigh School in the top 15 percent of her class.  She was also a member of the Honor Society, the Honor Roll and was an academic all-state selection.

 

Other Information

Allen did not participate in club or Olympic Development soccer.  However, she is active in rodeo where she competed in breakaway roping, goat tying, pole bending, barrel racing and team roping.  Allen also plays the violin.

 

Personal

Savannah Allen is the daughter of James and Donna Allen and has two sisters, Nikki, 27 and Heather, 26 and one brother, Riley, 16.  Allen is also the cousin of four-year Husker track and field letterwinner Erin Wibbels, who competed at Nebraska from 1998 to 2001.  Allen was born Aug. 19, 1987. She is majoring in animal science at Nebraska.
