2006 Season

Danielle Schoen saw action in 11 games as a sophomore, including her first career start against <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>WrightState on Aug. 25. Offensively, Schoen produced one shot on goal on two shots off the bench, including a shot in Nebraska's 3-2 win over Loyola-Chicago to cap the regular season. After a short time without seeing minutes, Schoen got back on the pitch against top-25 OklahomaState on Oct. 20, while also gaining minutes against Oklahoma on Oct. 22,  Loyola on Oct. 25 and during the first round of the 2006 Big 12 Championship.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

 

2005 Season

Schoen saw action in 16 games in her first season at Nebraska. She played more than 20 minutes in nine games in 2005, including a career-high 63 at Oral Roberts on Oct. 14.

Although Schoen did not record a point, she did attempt 13 shots in her rookie campaign, including five shots on goal. She took a career-high two shots on goal at Colorado on Sept. 23 and had one shot cleared off the backline by the CU defense.

 

High School
Schoen is another highly touted player in the Huskers’ 2005 recruiting class. Schoen earned first-team All-America honors as a junior from the National Soccer Coaches Association, as well as Player-of-the-Year honors for the state of New Mexico. Schoen was also the 5A state player of the year, as well as a first-team all-state selection in 2004. She earned District 2A player-of-the-year honors and was named the Albuquerque Tribune’s Fall Sport Player of the Year. As a senior, Schoen led La Cueva High to the 5A state championship by scoring 24 goals and adding eight assists, including three goals and two assists in the playoffs. She finished her career as a three-time all-district and all-city first-team selection and as a two-time all-state selection.

Other Information
Schoen played her club ball for Rio Vista Elite Soccer Club with Husker teammate Jessie Goodell. With Rio, Schoen earned Rocky Mountain Region VIII first-team honors.

Personal Information
The daughter of Eric and Lynn Schoen, Danielle was born on Dec. 15, 1986. She has one brother, Brandon, 20. Danielle is majoring in pre-optometry.
