2006 Season
Sophomore Ali Lokanc returned to the pitch for the Huskers in 2006 after suffering an injury in her freshman campaign. Lokanc played in 13 games in 2006 and moved into the starting lineup against <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Oklahoma on Oct. 22 and Loyola-Chicago on Oct. 25.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
After a brief absence from the pitch at the start of conference play, Lokanc returned as a forward against Texas A&M on Oct. 13 and nearly kept the Huskers from a shutout when she almost connected on a cross from Brittany Timko in the waning seconds of the match. The 5-10 sophomore earned the first assist of her career in NU's 2-1 loss to Central Michigan on Sept. 15.
2005 Season
After playing the first seven games of the season, Lokanc was forced out of action by injuries for the rest. She made five starts in NU's first seven games, but did not play the rest of the season.
High School
Lokanc was named a Prep Athlete of the Month in January 2005 by the San Diego Union-Tribune after scoring eight goals and adding three assists in the month of December for Patrick Henry High School. She earned first-team all-league and All-CIF honors for Henry, which captured the Eastern League championship.
In 2004, Lokanc was a first-team All-Eastern League selection for the league champion Patriots, as well as a second-team Division II All-California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) team selection. She earned first-team Division II All-CIF honors in 2003.
She finished as the team's leading scorer in 2005 and ranked second on the career goals list and third in career assists. Lokanc was also a four-year letterwinner in volleyball.
In the classroom, Lokanc was a four-year honor roll member and was named the San Diego Union-Tribune's Student-Athlete of the Year.
Other Information
Lokanc played her club ball for the PQ Premier Soccer Team, the same team as fellow Husker freshman Jamie Klages. Along with Klages, she helped lead the team to the quarterfinals of the National Cup.
Personal Information
The daughter of Dave and Debbie Lokanc, Ali has one sister, Tara and one brother, Kyle. Ali was born on Dec. 3, 1986. She has not declared a major at Nebraska.
