Amber Richardson (formerly Boldt) had a promising season after returning from an anterior cruciate ligament injury during the previous year. She saw action in 12 games and recorded four shots, one of which was on goal.

2002 Season

<?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Richardson redshirted during the 2002 season, while coming back from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that she suffered during her senior season in high school.

High School

Hampered by ACL injuries in her freshman and senior seasons at Papillion-LaVista High School, Richardson still created an impressive prep career.  As a junior, Richardson led her high school team with 21 points on eight goals and five assists to earn Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska and Lincoln Journal Star Super-State honors.  In her sophomore season, Richardson put together a 14-point season and garnered All-Metro accolades.  Her senior season started out on the same track, with three goals and one assist in her first four games, before tearing her ACL for the second time.  The injury did not keep her from being named the Gatorade Circle of Champions Nebraska Player of the Year in 2002.

Richardson was named to the honor roll for four years and was an academic letter winner for her 4.115 grade-point average.
