2001 Season
One of the top point-producing midfielders in the nation and a national player-of-the-year contender, All-American Meghan Anderson became Nebraska's all-time leading scorer with a goal at Oklahoma on Oct. 21. Anderson, who posted 146 career points, moved ahead of Lindsay Eddleman (127 career points) on the all-time chart. Anderson also started a school-record 94 games, beginning in 1998.

With an assist against Kansas on Oct. 7, Anderson became just the 29th NCAA Division I athlete to record both 40 career goals and 40 career assists. She totaled 48 career goals and a school-record 50 career assists. Only 13 athletes have posted 50 career goals and 50 career assists in NCAA history.

Anderson set a single-game school record with a nine-point effort against Texas Tech on Oct. 28. The Omaha native scored three goals and added three assists in NU's 8-1 victory.

Helping the Huskers to 78 victories in her four years at Nebraska, Anderson was honored as a first-team All-Big 12 selection in 2001. A Big 12 All-Tournamet selectioin, Anderson recorded 34 points on 10 goals and 14 assists. Anderson set the Nebraska school records for career games played and career games started at 94 a piece.

Anderson was rewarded for her work in the classrom, as well as on the field, by being named a Verizon/CoSIDA second-team Academic All-American.

2000 Season
A first-team NSCAA All-American, Anderson ranked second on the Husker squad-and second in the Big 12 Conference-with 39 points on 12 goals and 15 assists. Anderson earned first-team athletic and academic All-Big 12 honors for the second consecutive season, and was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament team. Her 0.63 assists per game ranked 15th nationally.

A Missouri Athletic Club National Player-of-the-Year Finalist, Anderson finished the 2000 season tied for first in the conferenc in assists and second in goals. She posted three multiple-goal games, earning Big 12 Conference Offensive Player-of-the-Week honors on Aug. 28, after scoring a total of seven points in Nebraska's first two games.

1999 Season
Anderson scored a team-leading 54 points on 21 goals and 12 assists to earn first-team All-Central Region and All-Big 12 honors. She also claimed a spot on the Big 12 All-Tournament team, while earning first-team academic All-Big 12 honors. She tied NU school records with eight points on four goals in a 6-0 win over Oral Roberts. Anderson scored at least one point in 16 of Nebraska's 25 games, and produced six multiple-goal games.

1998 Season
Anderson opened her Nebraska career wtih an oustanding freshman season in which she captured second-team freshman All-American and first-team freshman All-Central Region honors from Soccer Buzz to go along with second-team All-Big 12 Conference honors.

Anderson ranked fourth on the team with 19 points, while her nine assists tied Kelly Rheem for second behind Sharolta Nonen's 10 assists.

Anderson also made three appearances as an emergency goalkeeper, including a 2-0 shutout with five saves in a win at USC in her only start. She allowed just one goal in 144 minutes and recorded 10 saves. Anderson's first appearance came in a 4-1 win over No. 8 Clemson, when she spent the final 36:21 in goal after injuries to Karina LeBlanc and Jacki Erdkamp. Anderson grabbed four saves to preserve a Husker victory. Anderson allowed her only goal in 18:30 of work in a loss at UCLA, after LeBlanc earned a red card for illegal touching.

High School
Anderson earned Gatorade Circle of Champions Nebraska Player-of-the-Year and Parade Magazine All-America honors as a senior at Omaha Burke High School in 1998. She led the Bulldogs to the state semifinals in 1998 and a state tournament big in 1997 under Coach Steve Moore. Fellow Husker Becky Preston also played for Omaha Burke. Along with earning four letters in soccer, Anderson lettered four times in basketball. The two-time, first-team all-state selection and first-team All-Metro Conference midfielder was also an excellent student, posting a 3.7 grade-point average throughout high school. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Other Information
Anderson earned a spot on the U.S. Under-19 Select Squad that competed during the spring of 1999. She also played on the U.S. Under-17 National Team in 1997. She was a member of the Region II Olympic Development Program, and played club soccer on the Gladiator Forte with Omaha Burke and Husker teammate Becky Preston under Coach Chris Perrone.

Personal Information
The daughter or Dana and Marty Anderson, Meghan has two older brothers, Tim, 29, and Ted, 25. Meghan was a criminal justice major. She was born Feb. 28, 1980. Anderson grew up on the same block as high school and club teammate and fellow Husker Becky Preston.
