2001 Season

Anne Willrett played in 21 games in the course of the 2001 season. A solid contributing player, she added 22 shots, 11 of which were on goal. She also contributed two assists, supporting the Huskers to a 17-5-1 record in the 2001 season.

High School
Willrett earned Gatorade Circle of Champions Nebraska Player-of-the-Year honors as a senior at Marian High School in 2001, helping the Crusaders to their fourth consecutive Class A state title. A forward, Willrett scored 15 goals and added six assists in her final year, as Marian compiled a 22-0 record, surrending just two goals all season. The Crusaders finished the 2001 season tied for third nationally in the NSCAA Spring Girls High School Poll.

Despite missing six games with a sprained ankle in 2001, Willrett was named an honorary captain of the Lincoln Journal Star Super State Team. She also earned 2001 All-America honors from Student Sport Magazine. A four-time soccer letterwinner at Marian, Willrett scored 18 goals as a junior under Head Coach Ed Dudley.

Other Information
In addition to her high school experience, Willrett helped the West Omaha Tempesto win seven consecutive state cups.

The daughter of Steve and Kathy Willrett, Anne has one sister, Kristine, 15, and one brother, Michael, 9. She was born on May 15, 1983 in Omaha, Neb.
