1998 Season
Heather Brown tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee during the Husker's spring game at Notre Dame on April 12. The injury limited Brown in her senior season to appearances in only seven games. She recorded just one shot.

1997 Season
Brown earned first-team academic All-Big 12 Conference honors as a mechanical engineering major. On the field, Brown started the first five games of the season before being moved to a reserve role.

Although she had a streak of 47 consecutive starts snapped against Texas A&M on Sept. 14, Brown played a major role in Nebraska's defense, providing excellent depth for the Huskers. Brown helped the Huskers hold their opponents to a 0.57 goals-against average and just 3.29 shots on goal per game in 1997. She also helped Nebraska record a school-record streak of nine consecutive shutouts.

1996 Season
Brown earned second-team NSCAA/Umbro All-Central Region honors for the second consecutive season after starting all 24 games for the Huskers. Although she did not score a single point and attempted only three shots on goal during the season, Brown was a major contributor as one of Nebraska's best one-on-one defenders.

She played a vital role on a Husker defense that allowed only 4.21 shots-on-goal and 0.59 goals per game. Brown was one of five Huskers to earn first-team academic All-Big 12 Conference honors and one of eight Huskers to claim a spot on the Big 12 Conference Academic Honor Roll.

1995 Season
Brown earned team co-most valuable player honors as a defender after marking some of the best players in the nation in 1995. She was one of Nebraska's most reliable and intelligent players, earning second-team All-Central Region honors and Nebraska's Most Consistent Player Award. She was also named to the Big East Conference academic honor roll.

High School
Brown was a four-year standout at Cobourg East High School, playing for her father, Thor Brown. She was named Cobourg East's most outstanding athlete her juior and senior seasons. She also played basketball and volleyball four years, ran cross country three years and threw javelin three seasons. A standout in the classroom, Brown was on the Cobourg honor roll four years.

Other Information
Brown saw action in games against China, Japan and Brazil as a member of the Canadian National Team in 1996. Brown and Husker teammate Isabelle Morneau were among 18 players on the squad. From 1992 to 1995, Brown played for the Ontario provincial team. She earned a gold medal in 1995, as Ontario captured the Canadian national championship. A year earlier, Brown was on the Ontario team that finished as the Canadian national runner-up.

Personal Information
The daughter of Thor and Pat Brown, Heather has two sisters, Tracey, 24, and Wendy, 23, and a brother, Fred, 19. Heather was majoring in mechanical engineering and carried a 3.947 GPA. She was born Jan. 6, 1977.
