1998 Season
Becky Hogan started all 22 games in her senior season. She scored eight points on two goals and four assists, including the game-winning goal versus Texas A&M. She was selected to the first-team All-Big 12 conference and All-Big 12 Tournament team for her performance.
Hogan left her mark on the Huskers' record book. She finished her career with 22 assists, which put her atop Nebraska's All-Time Leaders list. She was second on the game-winning assists list with five. She also tied with teammate Kristen Gay atop the games-started list with 80 starts.
1997 Season
Hogan missed the first four games of 1997 while recovering from knee surgery. She finished the season with 16 starts in 18 games, while ranking sixth among the Huskers with 12 points on two goals and eight assists. Her eight assists tied for the team lead with Jenny Benson. Hogan scored her first goal in her first start of the season against Iowa State.
She added her second against San Diego. She posted two assists, including the game winner, in the Huskers' 5-1 win over No. 15 Michigan in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. She added assists against Missouri, Kansas, No. 4 Duke, Oklahoma and No. 10 Minnesota. Hogan earned Nebraska's Aerobic Power Award.
1996 Season
Hogan earned NSCAA/Umbro Third-Team All-Central Region honors after finishing the year as the Huskers' sixth-leading point-getter with 16 points on six goals and four assists. She also earned the Huskers' Aerobic Power Award after helping the Huskers to a 23-1-0 finish and a trip to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
She scored the game-winning goal in Nebraska's 3-0 win over Duke in the NCAA Tournament. She scored the first of three Husker goals in the Big 12 Tournament, breaking throught the Missouri defense in a 2-1 win over the Tigers in the Big 12 semifinals. Hogan also led the Huskers with two goals in a 5-0 win over Oral Roberts.
1995 Season
Hogan was Nebraska's leading point-getter with 20 points on seven goals and six assists. She also led the Huskers with three game-winning goals on the season. She scored her first game winner in a 3-0 win at Arkansas. She added a second in a 6-0 win over Florida State and recorded her third game winner in a 4-0 win over Northwestern. She posted her first two-goal performance in an 8-0 win over Wyoming.
High School
As a halfback for Jim Jaramillo's West Jordan team, Hogan poured in 98 goals and added 81 assists during her four-year career. Hogan was named her team's MVP her last three seasons and earned first-team all-state honors as a senior. She was second-team all-state as a junior and sophomore. She was named the Region IV MVP and earned West Jordan Athlete-of-the-Year honors in 1994 and 1995. Hogan was also a four-time All-Region IV Selection. She earned four letters in soccer, three in basketball and track and one in cross country.
One of the nation's top prep hurdlers, Hogan was a three-time state champion in the 300-meter hurdles. Hogan's 300 hurdles mark of 43.21 is a Utah state record and was the nation's 11th-fastest mark in 1995. She was West Jordan's track and field MVP three times and won athlete-of-the-meet honors at the 1995 Utah Meet of Champions. Hogan served as a student body officer, was a four-year honor roll selection and a member of the National Honor Society.
Other Information
Hogan holds the Nebraska the Nebraska Performance Index record with 1,867 points. She also holds the Husker record with a 10-yard dash time of 1.77 seconds. She was a member of the adidas League in Portland, Ore., during the summer of 1997.
Hogan also played for the Lakewood Fury Under-20 team during the summer of 1997. The Fury is the same club program that produced former Husker Kari Uppinghouse, and current Huskers Lindsay Eddleman and Kelly Rheem. in 1995, Hogan was picked for the West Region Under-19 team. She was a member of the Husker track and field team during the 1996 indoor season and competed in the 55-meter hurdles in two meets.
Personal Information
The daughter of Scott and Kim Hogan, Becky has a sister, Kathryn, 16, and two brothers, Ben 18, and Greg, 15. Becky was an English major. She was born March 8, 1977.
