1997 Season
Tanya Wright saw action in 18 games for the Huskers. A solid contributer off the bench, she recorded three points, scoring one goal and adding one assist. The goal came in a 6-0 NU win over Kansas on Oct. 5, while she assisted on a goal against San Diego in a 5-0 win for the Huskers on Oct. 10.
1996 Season
Wright received a medical redshirt, while recovering from a broken leg. She appeared briefly in a 1-0 win over Texas on Sept. 27. She also earned Nebraska's Most Inspirational Player Award.
1995 Season
Wright captured third-team All-Central Region honors, while starting all 18 games. She collected nine points on three goals and three assists and earned the Huskers' Toughness Award.
1994 Season
Wright started all 18 games, scoring 12 points on five goals and two assists. She earned NU's Most Creative Player Award.
High School
Wright played varsity soccer for Centennial from 1989 to 1993, claiming team MVP honors in 1992 and 1993. She was also a member of the honor roll. Wright was also Centennial's basketball MVP from 1990 to 1992 and the volleybal MVP in 1994.
Other Information
As a member of the Jets Soccer Club, Wright earned rookie-of-the-year honors in 1992 and most improved honors in 1993. She was a member of the Ontario provincial team from 1990 to 1993. Wright and Husker Tanya Franck played on the 1993 provincial team that won Canadian All-Star Championships.
Personal Information
The daughter of Douglas and Earlis Wright, Tanya has three brothers, Stuart, 29, Ian, 27, and Sean, 25, and a twin sister, Toosje, 22. She was a biological sciences major. She was born July, 17, 1975.
