1997 Season
Heather Dyche appeared in six games, helping the Huskers' to a 18-4-0 record and an apperance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
High School
Dyche captured USA Today Honorable-Mention All-America honors in 1997. She was the New Mexico High School Defensive Player-of-the-Year and earned all-state recognition for the fourth time in her high school career. Despite playing sweeper, Dyche scored 16 goals for El Dorado High School and Coach Jim Todd during her senior season.
A phenomenal all-around athlete, Dyche was also named a USA Today second-team All-American in basketball. She earned New Mexico High School Player-of-the-Year and all-state accolades in 1997. She was also named the El Dorado High School Athlete-of-the-Year. Overall, she finished with four letters in soccer and two in basketball.
Other Information
Dyche led her Rio Grande FC Under-19 club team to the West Regional Tournament in June 1997. Dyche was coached by Peter Clinch at Rio Grande FC. Dyche was a youth soccer coach and organized a youth soccer clinic in Albuquerque for the previous six years.
Personal Information
The daughter of Robin and Carol Dyche, Heather has three brothers, Bryan, 25, Kevin, 22, and Jeremy, 12. Heather was an elementary education major. She was born Sept. 30, 1978.
