  • Nebraska's Most Creative Player Award (1995)

1996 Season
Erica De Vitis (pronounced Da-VEE-tis) started all 24 games for NU in the 1996 campaign. She scored eight points on two goals and four assists. She recorded the game-winning goal in a 4-0 victory over Tulsa on Oct. 4. She also notched the game-winning assist, plus two more assists, in a 10-2 Husker win over Colorado Oct. 13.

1995 Season
One of Nebraska's most creative and dangerous one-on-one players, De Vitis was the Huskers' fifth-leading point-getter in 1995, with 13 points. De Vitis scored three goals and dished out seven assists. She also won Nebraska's Most Creative Player Award. She displayed excellent technical skill and showed that she was an aggresive, attacking player.

High School
De Vitis played center midfield for Chuck Moralas at San Margarita and was her team's most valuable player and captain in 1994 and 1995. She helped Santa Margarita to Sea View League titles in 1992, 1993 and 1994. She earned first-team Southern Section All-California Interscholastic Federation honors in 1994 and 1995, and California Soccer Coaches Association first-team all-state honors in 1995.

A three-time All-Sea View League performer, De Vitis was also the Coca-Cola athletic administrators of Orange County MVP in 1995. She was first-team All-Orange Country in 1994 and 1995, and was Santa Margarita's female athlete-of-the-year in 1995.

Other Information
In July 1995 and 1996, De Vitis helped her North Huntington Beach Soccer Club team to the Under-19 national championship finals. De Vitis' club team earned a trip to the national finals by claiming the Far West Region championship, where she was named most valuable player. North Huntington Beach was the Far West Region runner-up in 1994, after winning California state title in 1994 and 1995. De Vitis was also named the 1994 Far West Region MVP, despite her team's second-place finish.

Personal Information
The daughter of Florian and Sue De Vitis, Erica has two brothers, Ryan, 17, and Cole, 12. She was born June 18, 1977.
