1995 Season
Dawn Riesberg (pronounced REECE-berg) saw action in six games for the Huskers in 1995. Her only goal of the season came versus Wyoming in an 8-0 win on Sept. 24.
High School
Riesberg played for Kerrie Jackson at Papillion-LaVista High School and helped the Monarchs to the state finals in 1994. Riesberg was named academic all-state by the Nebraska State Coaches Association and was an NSCA second-team all-state pick in 1995, after earning honorable-mention in 1994. A three-year letterwinner in soccer. Riesberg scored 22 goals and added 15 assists during her final two seasons.
She also earned three letters in diving and four in gymnastics. Riesberg received the Greater Omaha Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Year award in gymnastics. A member of the National Honor Society, Riesberg also earned two academic letters. She was a high school teammate of Husker Stephanie Vacek.
