1994 Season
Tara Herbrik was one of seven Huskers to start all 18 contests in 1994, the program's inagural season as a varsity women's sport. Herbrik finished fifth on the team in points with 12. She scored seven goals and added one assist. Herbrik recorded the first goal in Husker's history as she scored in Nebraska's opening game versus Creighton.
Herbrik went on a tear in the middle of the season. In a three game stretch, she recorded eight points. She scored goals against Oral Roberts and Marquette and followed that up with a goal and two assists versus Texas Christian. Herbrik's efforts won her the Huskers' Most Consistent Player Award.
High School
Herbrik, a 1994 graduate of Terry Fox High School in Port Coquitlam, played for the Port Coquitlam Blazers club team under coach Pete Stratton. The Blazers won league titles in 1990, 1992 and 1994. Provincial champions in 1990 and 1992, the Blazers also finished second in Canada in those years. In 1993, Herbrik played for the British Columbia Provincial All-State Soccer Program.
Other Information
Herbrik was a member of her high school's honor roll her junior and senior years.
Personal Information
The daughter of Steve and Linda Herbrik, Tara has one sister, Erika, 17. Tara was born Jan. 16, 1976.
