2007 Season
Rachel Hawryluk (pronounced HAR-look) was one of five freshmen to redshirt their first season in the program after the Huskers welcome 14 first-year players to the squad in the fall.
High School
Hawryluk joined Nebraska from Trinity Christian Academy in Dallas, Texas, after a remarkable high school career that included Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools All-State, All-District and All-Tournament honors.
A two-time NCSAA Girls Varsity Soccer first-team All-American, Hawryluk captained Trinity Christian in 2007 and was voted team most-valuable player. The 5-8 defender was also a division 1-6A first-team All-District and second-team All-State selection in her senior season.
Hawryluk also enjoyed a successful academic career at Trinity Christian, enjoying selections to the honor roll four consecutive years.
Other Information
As a club competitor, Hawryluk played for the Dallas Texans 89 Red, helping her team to the 2006 Disney Cup, 2006 Region III West Premier league championship and a 2007 state runner-up finish.
Hawryluk also participated in the Olympic Development Program and competed in the 2004 ODP National Championships, while playing with the North Texas ODP state team from 2004 to 2006.
Personal Information
Rachel is the daughter of John and Lauren Hawryluk and has one sister, Cara. Rachel was born in Norfolk, Va., on Nov. 11, 1988.
