2007 Season
Meredith Shuman was one of five freshman to redshirt their first season in the program after the Huskers welcomed 14 first-year players to the squad in the fall of 2007.
High School
Shuman was also a four-year starter for coach John Mauro at Bellevue West, where she was a three-time Class A all-state selection, including first-team honors in 2006, and a two-time Lincoln Journal Star Super State selection.
Shuman broke the Bellevue school record for points in a season twice in her career, first during her sophomore season in 2005 (30) and again in 2006 with 40 points on 13 goals and 14 assists.
Other Information
Shuman joins the Huskers from the Toro Magic soccer club in Omaha, where she was a two-time State Cup champion, a Midwest Regional semifinalist and a State League champion.
Shuman also competed on the Nebraska Olympic Development Program state team in 2005.
Personal
Meredith is the daughter of Phil and Mary Shuman and has three brothers, Clark, Chris and Jon. Meredith was born Dec. 5, 1988 and plans to major in biological sciences at Nebraska.
