2023 (Senior)
After an injury that sidelined her for the first nine matches of the season, Gwen Lane played in the final 15 games of the season, while starting 12 of them. She amassed 911 minutes in 2023 and tallied four assists and recorded three shots, to help NU to its program-best third-trip to the Elite Eight and a Big Ten regular season title.

2022 (Junior)
Lane was a constant in the Husker backfield as she started all 20 games this season and totaled 1,591 minutes. Lane helped Nebraska to five shutouts, while individually totaling one goal and one assist on the year. Her lone goal occurred in the Huskers’ upset of #24 Penn State on Oct. 20 at home.

2021 (Sophomore)
Lane started all 18 games in 2021 and amassed 1353 minutes, the fourth-most among the Huskers. Lane recorded one goal on the season as she scored within the first minute of play against Illinois on Oct. 21. She tallied two assists and 12 shots, seven of which were shots on goal. Lane played the complete game twice and never recorded less than 58 minutes.  

2020-21 (Freshman)
Gwen Lane started all 10 games in her first season with the Huskers and amassed 708 minutes of action on the year. She tied for second on the team with 12 shots and tallied six shots on goal. Lane scored the game winning goal against Iowa (April 4) in the regular-season finale, the first goal of her career. Her performance in the Husker victory over Iowa earned her Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. Lane played a season-high 89 minutes against Wisconsin (March 13).

High School
Lane joined the Huskers from Lincoln Southwest High School, where she played for Coach Thomas Nettleton. As a sophomore in 2018, Lane scored 14 goals and added six assists to lead the Silver Hawks to a spot in the semifinals of the state tournament after capturing the district title and Heartland Athletic Conference crown. Lane received Super-State, all-state, all-conference and all-city honors in 2018. During her freshman season in 2017, she scored seven goals and set a school record with 19 assists to help Southwest win the district and conference titles before advancing to the state tournament semifinals. Lane was named the team’s newcomer of the year, while also achieving all-state, all-conference and all-city accolades. She was runner-up for the team’s player of the year. An honor roll student, Lane earned four academic letters and was named an athletic scholar on two occasions.
Other Information
Lane played club soccer for Sporting Omaha DA 01/02 under Coach Alex Mason. She helped the team capture the Nebraska State Cup in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, the squad qualified for the USYS National Tournament, while also making the semifinals of the USYS Region II Tournament. Sporting Omaha DA 01/02 finished runner-up at the Midwest Regional League (Premier 1 Division 1) in 2016 and 2017. During her career, Lane scored 42 goals and was named 2017-18 Sporting Omaha FC Player of the Year.
Personal Information
Gwen is the daughter of Chris and Kristine Lane, and was born on July 27, 2002. Gwen has one sister, Jillian, and one brother, Fox. Gwen is majoring in pre-health and is a five-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection.
