Freshman (2022-23)
Vittoria Watts made an immediate impact in her debut season with the Huskers, competing in 13-of-14 matches, including the NCAA Championships. She broke NU’s air rifle record of 598 at Alaska-Fairbanks and earned second-team honors in the event from the CRCA. She also tied NU’s second-highest air rifle score of 597 at Georgia Southern. Her air rifle average of 594.08 was first on the team, and she didn’t shoot below a 592 once in the event. She posted 11 top-10 finishes in the air rifle, along with 11 top-10 overall finishes and 10 top-10 smallbore finishes. Her aggregate average of 1,177.08 was third on the team and she averaged a 583.43 in the smallbore.

Before Nebraska
Vittoria Watts comes to the Nebraska rifle program as a two-time California state champion in 2020 and 2021. She was also a 2021 Junior Olympics Qualifier in Air Rifle 60 Standing (593, 44x), and won first place at the 2021 Cal Smith Memorial Air Rifle Match (621.9; 2,440 Team Score).

Personal
The daughter of Ryan and Kirsten Watts, Vittoria was born on Dec. 16, 2003. She has two sisters, Isabella and Alexandria. A business marketing major, Vittoria earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2022. She was also a member of the 2023 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. Watts enjoys making and selling her own artwork. She chose to come to Nebraska because of the kind and welcoming atmosphere, and because of how the athletic department sets its athletes up for success.
