Honors and Awards

Senior Season (2009-10)
A two-time All-GARC first-teamer, Amanda Jeffries finished her Husker career with a 582.49 career air rifle average, making her one of the top all-time air rifle shooters in Husker history. Jeffries' 593 career high ranks second all-time in NU history. Jeffries earned one individual air rifle title in her senior campaign, bringing her career total to six. She also won four smallbore titles in her Husker career. Her 581.40 air rifle season average and 570.73 smallbore season average ranked second on the team. Jeffries was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters, giving her a spot on the list every semester of her Husker career.

Junior Season (2008-09)
Jeffries was named a first-team All-American in air rifle after recording a season average of 586.08, which led the Huskers. Jeffries captured two air rifle titles and one smallbore title to bring her career individual titles total to nine. In addition, Jeffries was the overall combined champion in three matches on the season. She recorded a career-best 593 in air rifle in the season-opening match against Nevada. At the GARC Championships, Jeffries placed fourth in the overall combined standings, giving her a spot on the All-GARC first team. Jeffries also earned a spot on the Big 12 Commisioner’s Honor Roll for the fifth consecutive semester in the fall.

Sophomore Season (2007-08)
Jeffries was the top shooter for Nebraska in both air rifle and smallbore at the end of the season. Jeffries held a team-best season average of 584.25 in air rifle, and she earned second-team All-American honors in air rifle after capturing four individual titles on the year. Jeffries also added two titles in smallbore and scored an average of 573.17, also the best on the team. Jeffries earned Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll spots for her academic work in both the fall and spring semesters.

Freshman Season (2006-07)
Jeffries concluded her freshman campaign as a mainstay in the Husker air rifle and smallbore lineups. She competed in every regular season competition and saw action in postseason matches, including the NCAA Championships. Jeffries held a season average of 577.8 in air rifle and 565.9 in smallbore. In addition, she was recognized for her academic acheivement by being named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s fall and spring honor rolls.

Before Nebraska
Before joining the Nebraska rifle team, Jeffries was a well-recognized junior competitor who achieved success at the national level. The 2005 3-P air rifle champion, she earned a spot on the Olympic National Development Team. With her third-place overall finish in three-position smallbore at the 2006 U.S. Nationals, Jeffries also earned a spot on the U.S. National Team. Jeffries previously claimed high junior competitor honors in smallbore at the Rocky Mountain Championships in 2005.

Personal
The daughter of David and Daphne Jeffries, Amanda was born on Nov. 7, 1987, in Pampa, Texas. Jeffries, who was homeschooled, was named to the National Technical Honor Society for her academic excellence and is an accounting major at Nebraska. She has one sister, Emily, 19.
