Sophomore (2014-15)
Lauren Phillips had another successful season as the she helped the team return to the NCAA Championships for a second consecutive year. Phillips appeared 15 times in both smallbore and air rifle. She tied her career-high air rifle score of 593 in November of 2014.  She also earned conference honors, being named an honorable mention on the combined team.

An academic All-Big Ten choice in 2015, Phillips also earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2014-15. She was also a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Freshman (2013-14)
Phillips had an immediate impact on the Nebraska team as a freshman, appearing in all but one air rifle match for the Huskers.  In her first match as a Husker, Phillips fired personal-best scores and continued to improve as the season went on. She finished the season with a career-high score of 587 in smallbore and a 593 in air rifle. 

Phillips had a successful post-season as well. She finished first in the conference in smallbore and was the only Nebraska shooter to make it to the finals in air rifle, where she placed seventh in the conference and was named to two All-Conference Teams.  She made the second team in smallbore and was an honorable mention in air rifle. Phillips also qualified for the NCAA Championships where she helped the team to a fifth place finish. Phillips was named a First Team All-American by the NRA in smallbore and a Third Team All-American by the CRCA.

Off the range, Phillips was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for her service and leadership efforts throughout the community. She also earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar Athlete Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2013-14.

Before Nebraska
Phillips came to Nebraska after a prep career filled with championships. She captured titles at the Washington Junior Precision Air Rifle Championships and the 2013 Open Three-Position Air Rifle Sectional. She was also the Washington Girl’s Precision Junior Olympic Air Rifle champion for May 2013. In 2012, she was a member of the West Seattle Totems Thunderbirds NRA national championship team in Indoor Conventional Position Smallbore.

Personal
Phillips is the daughter of Jeff and Marsha Phillips and was born April 5, 1995 in Bremerton, Wash. She has one brother, Matt, 16. She was a child, youth and family studies major at Nebraska, earning academic All-Big Ten honors in 2015.
