2007-08 Season Outlook
The most decorated recruit in Nebraska’s freshman class, Elisha LaFond joins the Huskers as a contender for both the smallbore and air rifle lineups.

“Elisha will be a very strong shooter for us immediately this year,” Head Coach Morgan Hicks said. “She has a lot of international experience in high-pressure situations, which will be valuable in shooting big collegiate matches.”

Before Nebraska
LaFond competed for Bob Orth as a member of the Spokane Rifle Team. As a junior shooter in 2006, LaFond captured the Second J2 10-meter air rifle crown. LaFond has competed internationally for five years, traveling to Croatia for the 2006 World Championships and the World Cup in Brazil, as well as Germany, England and the CzechRepublic. In 2004, LaFond was one of 10 junior shooters, including current Husker senior Kirsten Weiss, to represent the United States at the Junior International Match in Bisley, England, where she helped her team to third-place finishes in 50-meter three-position smallbore and 10-meter air rifle. Individually, LaFond took the bronze medal in 10-meter air rifle.
