Junior (2022-23)
As a junior, Madelynn Erickson was a consistent contributor for the Huskers. She competed in all 14 matches for NU, including the NCAA Championships, and placed in the top 10 overall in 10 matches. She notched two first-place finishes and two second-place finishes in those matches. Erickson earned the second-highest smallbore average on the team with a 584.21 and had a 591.71 air rifle average and a 1,175.93 aggregate average. She posted personal bests in all three events this season – 589 in the smallbore (Air Force, 10/2/22), 597 in the air rifle (at Morehead State, 1/14/23) and 1,175 in the aggregate (at Morehead State, 1/14/23). Erickson finished 16th out of 44 shooters in the smallbore event of the 2023 NCAA Championships. She was honored as an honorable mention smallbore All-American by the CRCA. 

Sophomore (2021-22)
Madelynn Erickson competed in 10-of-12 matches for the Huskers in her sophomore season as she was named a CRCA Honorable Mention Smallbore All-American. Her smallbore average average was 583.4, which was third on the squad, while her air rifle average score was a 589.4, which was second. She averaged a 1,172.8 aggregate score over the course of the season.

She posted six top-five overall finishes on the season, including two overall first-place finishes and two overall second-place finishes. Erickson finished in the top five of the smallbore in nine of the ten matches that she competed in. She recorded five top-five air rifle finishes on the year, including two first-place showings. Her best smallbore performance of the season was a score of 587 against Air Force on Nov. 21, while her season-best air rifle score was a 593 against VMI on Nov. 7 and against UTEP on Oct. 9, both of which were career records for her.

Freshman (2020-21)
Erickson quickly settled into the Huskers' lineup, competing in every meet and helping the Big Red finish sixth at the NCAA Championships. She ranked second on the team in air rifle (590.9),  was third on the team in aggregate (1168.0) and fourth in air rifle (577.1). Erickson posted top-six finishes in 11 of 16 meets during the regular season, including a runner-up finish against Murray State in the NCAA qualifier. Her best meet of the year came in a win over Air Force on Jan. 17, when she posted season bests in both smallbore (583) and air rifle (594). It was one of eight air rifle scores of 590 or better for Erickson in 2021. Her work in the community was also recognized, as she was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship team in 2021.

Before Nebraska
Erickson brought an impressive shooting resume to Nebraska. She competed for Sutter Union High School under coach Allen Jaynes, where she was a 2019 Eley High School All-American. Erickson was the 2019 California State Champion in both standing air and 4-P indoor smallbore. She was a four-time competitor in the national Junior Olympics Championships and received sixth place in J2 and 26th overall in air rifle in 2019. 

Personal
Erickson is majoring in nutrition and health sciences at Nebraska. She was a CRCA Scholastic All-American in 2021 and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2022. She is a five-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection and a two-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
