Senior (2010-11): Calin Paar closed an impressive four-year career at Nebraska by helping the Huskers to the first two NCAA Tournament berths in school history in 2010 and 2011. Paar finished his career with 66 singles victories, including a 15-13 record as a senior. He played out of the top two spots in the lineup as a senior, posting a 6-4 mark at No. 1, while adding a 9-9 record at No. 2. Paar's lone win over a ranked player came against Oklahoma's No. 46 Costin Paval. In doubles play, Paar produced a 13-13 record, while playing at all three spots in the NU lineup. He went 8-6 paired with Robert Schulze, including 3-2 at the No. 1 spot. Paar played the majority of his Big 12 doubles matches with Benedikt Lindheim, as the duo went 3-3 from the No. 2 spot.
A strong performer in the classroom as well, Paar captured first-team academic All-Big 12 accolades as a senior. He also earned spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both semesters.
Junior (2009-10): Playing the majority of the season in the No. 2 spot, Paar had a singles record of 16-7 including a 13-4 mark while playing in the No. 2 spot. Paar ran off a 10-match winning streak in the middle of the season to climb to No. 70 in the national singles rankings. Paar went 3-3 in Big 12 singles play. He produced a 12-14 doubles record while playing mostly in the No. 1 spot with partner David Bendheim. Against ranked opponents, Paar had a record of 4-6.
Off the court, Paar claimed spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.
Sophomore (2008-09): Paar entered the spring after posting eight singles wins in the fall. Playing in the Huskers' top three spots, Paar found his most success at the No. 2 slot, as he went 11-4 before finishing with an overall record of 12-10. Paar went 1-2 when playing at the No. 1 spot. In doubles, Paar teamed with junior David Bendheim to form the Huskers' top doubles team for the majority of the season. The duo finished with a 13-12 overall record while going 11-11 at the No. 1 spot.
Paar captured second-team academic All-Big 12 recognition, while earning a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll.
Freshman (2007-08): Working in the top three spots, Paar posted a record of 15-9 en route to one of the most successful freshman seasons in recent NU history. After being on campus for only a semester, Paar had a winning record in all three top spots. Paar went 4-2 at the No. 1 position, but he saw his most success at the No. 2 position, going 10-7.
In the classroom, Paar earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.
High School: Paar attended AMG Gymnasium in Munich, Germany, where he achieved a ranking as high as 105th in the country. Paar was No. 2 in Germany's under-16 division and No. 1 in its under-14 division.
Personal: Calin was born May 7, 1988, in Arad, Romania, and is the son of Elena and Mircea Paar. He has one sister, Anca. Calin is a management major at Nebraska and is a two-time academic All-Big 12 selection. He is also a six-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
