2023-24: Junior

In his first year with the Big Red, Anton Shepp found success on the court. Consistently playing No. 1 doubles, and No. 1 or No. 2 singles, the junior was named Big Ten Player of the Week (Jan. 17, 2024), and was ranked nationally in singles by ITA several times. The UT-Arlington transfer reached 45 career singles wins and 46 career doubles wins, and put up two ranked wins in singles, #51 Enzo Aguiard and #99 Kenta Miyoshi, both in straight sets. Shepp’s victory over Illinois’ Miyoshi helped push the Big Red to defeat #26 Illinois in the Big Ten Quarterfinals, advancing to the semifinals for the first time in program history. Shepp tallied 17 singles wins and 18 doubles wins in his junior season. Shepp frequently paired with senior Nic Wiedenhorn, and the duo claimed two ranked doubles wins, against #31 Burton/Vandecasteele and #35 Lutschaunig/Boulais. Shepp and Wiedenhorn were ranked nationally at No. 74 on May 2 by ITA. The pair also reached the semifinals in the ITA Regional Championships in the fall.

Off the court, Shepp was named to the 2024 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
