2010: Co-captain Tony Maras entered the 2010 NCAA Championships as a five-event threat on floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault and parallel bars. He advanced onto the event preliminaries at the championships, where he earned a score of 14.65. Maras earned one event title on the season against Ohio State, Air Force and UIC on Feb. 21, and another third-place finish on rings against Iowa and Minnesota on March 20.

2009: Coming off a preseason Achilles tendon injury, Maras made a full recovery and appeared in every competition for the Huskers during the 2009 season. He captured one still rings title on the year, earning a first-place finish against Iowa and Minnesota with his season-high score of 15.30. Maras competed at the 2009 NCAA Championships, where he advanced to the second day of competition with a score of 14.95 on still rings during the qualifying session. He went on to notch a score of 14.60 on still rings in the event preliminaries. As an economics major, Maras earned spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the fall of 2008 and the spring of 2009.

2008: Maras emerged as a strong force in the 2008 NU lineup. He started the season only competing on still rings, but became a four-event competitor later in the season. He captured his first still rings title with a score of 14.90 at Stanford, before tying Nebraska's Anthony Ingrelli for first on still rings (15.15) against Iowa. He concluded his sophomore season after the second day of NCAA competition, as he advanced to the event preliminaries on vault with a score of 15.75.

2007: Maras suffered a broken hand midway through the season that took him out of action for several weeks. Despite the setback, he still managed to emerge as NU's top rings competitor, setting a career- and team-high score of 9.45 and earning an event title. Maras, who also notched an event title on the vault (8.95), was the only freshman in 2007 to tally an event crown.

Prior: Maras joined the Huskers from Midwest Gymnastics in Anoka, Minn. He exhibited remarkable talent on the still rings and placed first in his age group on the apparatus at the 2004 Junior Olympic Nationals, while finishing ninth on the vault at the 2005 J.O. competition. Academically, Maras was a member of the Anoka High School Honor Roll.

Personal: Anthony (Tony) was born on Jan. 12, 1988, to Nick and Laureen Maras of Ramsey, Minn. Tony has one sister, Kirsten. Tony is a business and economics major at Nebraska.
